Miss Simpson on her way!

29 Sep

Miss Jessica Simpson is on her way to Kuwait. She will most likely arrive sometime tomorrow morning/lunchtime for those wishing to catch a glimpse. She will be performing for the troops at the camps, north and south.
Wish just once we could have a concert for us. Taxpayers money in the states are paying for her to fly here, first-class…good their money is going somewhere useful.
Thank God we don’t pay tax, eh?

I would rather see someone who can actually sing, her ‘entertaing’ the troops means wearing daisy dukes and shaking her ass, not what I wanna see! The should be people with actual talent!

Snow- Just to clarify! I don’t think she is talented. I do think, however, it would be nice if we could be ‘entertained’… daisy dukes and ass shaking isn’t what I meant 😛
The only concerts we are blessed with, are during Ramadan and Hala Feb- Nancy and 7sain 😦
Would be nice if we could see SOMEONE, ANYONE…other than the arabic stuff….
The Stig- This thing has tight, tight security. Unless you know a ‘contractor or army personnel’ aint much chance hun. sorry 🙂

How can a Kuwaiti get into the camp! 😛

Stig, I used to work closely with the Kuwaiti CID to get Camp Access badges approved for local nationals to get on the bases (woo hoo wasta!). However, since 2008, they became very strict about approving an access badge — even for a day. You have to show proof of employment (either with a US company, or a local company doing business on the base), a clean criminal record (and after the car theft thing not sure you qualify :)), as well as a number of other items — then you wait. And, well, you know how long waiting for a government office can take.

Yeah, you’ll be waiting until 2012…or thereabouts.

I agree with Snow — she’s not my idea of a ‘talented’ woman. But, I suppose if her intentions are good, and she’s attempting to raise the morale of the troops, that’s a positive thing.
