Tanning season over…time to get your winter glow.

6 Nov

Tanning season is over and that means only one thing…lots of dead skin that needs exfoliated, renewed and moisturised!

Masks are an ideal way of removing the dead cells on the outer layer of the skin. In fact, a mask performs many functions that improve the health and appearance of your skin. A good mask should improve skin texture, make it clearer and more translucent and also preserve its youthful qualities. Masks have a deep cleansing action on the skin, removing impurities, wastes and dead skin cells. They also keep the pores free of clogged oil and prevent many related problems. The removal of dead cells helps to improve the skin’s ability to absorb products, making moisturisation much more effective. The skin’s cell renewal function also improves.

It’s so easy to achieve this at home! Here are a few of my own ‘recipes’.

My skin tends to be quite oily, although, el7umdela I don’t have a problem with spots. Weird eh? It just looks oily, I always have to ‘powder down’ my face after I apply foundation.

Anyway, this is a great mask and I love it! It’s called the Apple Zinger!

1 medium sided apple, blended with a hand blender. 5 teaspoons of honey (warmed) …apply that to your face and leave for ten minutes. Feel fantastic!

There are lots of other masks that I do. There’s the Strawberry and Lemon Lifter.

1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 2 egg whites and 3 teaspoons of honey (again, warmed), 1 cup strawberries. Whizz that all up in a blender and apply, leaving for 10minutes. You will feel that your face is firmer and it helps to clear up the oily patches.

These masks are great for giving you back that glow that you had in summer…

Now, then there’s the time when the winter weather starts…my face switches from being oily to dry.

That’s when I use my Banana O’lay Mask!

1 medium to large Banana; soft and peeled (warmed slightly) and 1 tablespoon of olive oil! Leave that on for ten minutes! You will be amazed at the difference!

I’m considering making up these masks to sell as part of my new ‘business’. If anyone is interested, let me know.

I’ve got lots more!

Cornmeal and Avocodo!

Carrot and Banana!

Chocolate and Banana!

You name it, I have it! The fantastic thing about them is they are ALL natural ingredients which is the best thing to be putting into your skin!
