Winter IS here whether you all like it or not, you do actually have to get your jackets, cardies and uggs out, ladies! Summer is gone.

The horrible thing is , flu season is here.

Forget your local pharmacy, natural things are going to make you feel better faster and they are cheaper!

Here are a few spices that you MUST have in your cupboard.

Cayenne pepper – gets blood flowing, and speeds ups metabolism.

Rosemary – aids in lung functioning properly and will help with those nasty upper respiratory infections!

Scallions – thin mucous secretions & help sweat out fever

Jalapenos & red chili flakes – help open up nasal passages (say goodbye to those horrible Sinus problems!)

Onions and garlic – have amazing antibiotic properties and help again with thinning out mucous secretions. Studies have found that garlic has antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiprotozoal properties.

Ginger – Long appreciated as an aid to digestion, numerous studies have shown that it is effective against nausea. Ginger has also been shown to have antimicrobial and antiviral properties, so consuming it while you’re sick may help knock out whatever is ailing you. Add minced fresh ginger root to soup, or blend it into a Vitamin C-rich fruit smoothie!

Mint – Mint is a natural source of menthol, so a steaming cup of mint tea can actually help open clogged nasal passages and soothe sore throats, at least temporarily. Drinking it throughout the day may even help offset the need for dehydrating decongestants.
