When will Evie Glam arrive in Kuwait?

23 Nov

So, Peacocks clothing store in the UK have finally released a makeup line.
The launch aims to strengthen Peacocks’ aim to be the number one stop shop on the high street for the latest trends in both fashion and beauty, building on its current commitment to offering customers the latest fashion looks at great value and its collaboration with Pearl Lowe – (recent designer line that was released)
‘Evie Glam’ will launch in 250 Peacocks’ stores and online this week and will be regularly updated to reflect seasonal beauty trends, and priced from £2.00 for a plumping lip gloss tube (that’s 1kd ladies!), £2.50 for a glitter nail varnish (1kd 250fils), and £4.00 for an eye palette gift set (that’s just 2kd!). Products in the range include light up lip glosses and every day make-up bag essentials as well as step by step guides to creating this season’s latest beauty looks. ‘Evie Glam’ offers the perfect beauty solution for chiconomisters in search of glamour on a budget.
It’s called Evie Glam…after the clothes. Evie is the label. I can’t wait. Personally, I love the range that Peacocks offer. The material washes well and they always have a huge variety. I actually quite like there store in Avenues but it’s tiny! The stores back in UK are three, four floors high… speaking of three four floors high, why, oh why do we not have a Primark here? Isn’t it time that someone brought it to the Middle East?

Nivea’s Angel Star Line

15 Nov

So, today in Lulu, I found a fantastic bargain! I got the new Nivea Angel Star Line lotion (and deodorant free)… it was only 1.050kd. Cheap, right?

Well, I tried out the lotion tonight, it feels amazing and smelt so good that I wanted to eat it!! It gave me that soft feeling that we all crave!  Basically it has a special formula that contains a balanced moisturizing technology with micro fine powder particles that adapt to the level of moisture needed on different body zones.

Result: oily zones are mattified and dry zones are intensively moisturized while the irresistible raspberry scent pleasantly enwraps your skin.

I seriously recommend everyone tries it! I’m more of a neutrogena type of girl but not any more! I’m sticking with Nivea!!

And GUYS: 😛 Yes, guys use lotions too!! I got my husband some of the lotion for men.

He was ‘happy’ with it. LOL

Nivea is getting 10/10 from me for their products!

Tanning season over…time to get your winter glow.

6 Nov

Tanning season is over and that means only one thing…lots of dead skin that needs exfoliated, renewed and moisturised!

Masks are an ideal way of removing the dead cells on the outer layer of the skin. In fact, a mask performs many functions that improve the health and appearance of your skin. A good mask should improve skin texture, make it clearer and more translucent and also preserve its youthful qualities. Masks have a deep cleansing action on the skin, removing impurities, wastes and dead skin cells. They also keep the pores free of clogged oil and prevent many related problems. The removal of dead cells helps to improve the skin’s ability to absorb products, making moisturisation much more effective. The skin’s cell renewal function also improves.

It’s so easy to achieve this at home! Here are a few of my own ‘recipes’.

My skin tends to be quite oily, although, el7umdela I don’t have a problem with spots. Weird eh? It just looks oily, I always have to ‘powder down’ my face after I apply foundation.

Anyway, this is a great mask and I love it! It’s called the Apple Zinger!

1 medium sided apple, blended with a hand blender. 5 teaspoons of honey (warmed) …apply that to your face and leave for ten minutes. Feel fantastic!

There are lots of other masks that I do. There’s the Strawberry and Lemon Lifter.

1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 2 egg whites and 3 teaspoons of honey (again, warmed), 1 cup strawberries. Whizz that all up in a blender and apply, leaving for 10minutes. You will feel that your face is firmer and it helps to clear up the oily patches.

These masks are great for giving you back that glow that you had in summer…

Now, then there’s the time when the winter weather starts…my face switches from being oily to dry.

That’s when I use my Banana O’lay Mask!

1 medium to large Banana; soft and peeled (warmed slightly) and 1 tablespoon of olive oil! Leave that on for ten minutes! You will be amazed at the difference!

I’m considering making up these masks to sell as part of my new ‘business’. If anyone is interested, let me know.

I’ve got lots more!

Cornmeal and Avocodo!

Carrot and Banana!

Chocolate and Banana!

You name it, I have it! The fantastic thing about them is they are ALL natural ingredients which is the best thing to be putting into your skin!

Is gray hair ever fashionable?

4 Nov

Apparently so….

For decades men and women have been trying to mask signs of aging, but a new wave fashionable gray hair is reflecting a shifting attitude regarding the physical effects of getting older. Celebrities with gray hair are letting their natural roots show, and for their spring 2010 shows, Gareth Pugh, Giles Deacon and Proenza Schouler paraded models down the runways with silver locks.

I think I’ll stick with my Clairol number 7…

Arabomber on Girls…

2 Nov

Remember a few days ago, I posted the ‘How to be Kuwaitia’ …well…guess what! This guy has FINALLY got a blog AND it’s up and running RIGHT NOW! Yayy!

And ladies…he also did an interview with Desert Blvd..

Here’s what he had to say:

What do you see in your Future Wife? Personality and looks wise

VA: Oh man… here we go with the tough questions lol. It’s like how to be a millionaire the higher you go, the harder it gets.
Ill sum it all up in one step baby.
– A lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets. WOO!
Ok long pause… awkwardness fades slowly.
No, seriously.
Just off the top of my head, of what I see in the perfect wife.
1) Loving & caring to kids (I love kids, if I had a choice the more kids the better.)
2) Open-minded but respects her culture and her roots.
3) Someone who seems to fit in with my family, juuuust right. Like a missing puzzle piece.
4) Not a party girl. Hate them. Miami too many, ble5.
5) Not your typical Kuwaiti girl, I like them casual, none of that dress up EVERYDAY crap. I would love to see one day in Kuwait, a girl that just wear a pair of jeans and a shirt. (Sexiest thing ever in my book) It’s nice to dress up for sure, but everyday… is just pushing it.
6) Doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty, kick it and play some ball.
7) Hate, hate, haaaate make up. Just like you don’t want to be touching a head of hair filled with gel, I don’t want to be wiping off your mask when I touch your face…. I know girls that are absolutely beautiful without makeup, and they just have to ruin it. Once again, don’t mind it once in a while. It’s the everyday that kills it.
8) I hit the gym, I do my part, tend to be pretty active. Would be nice if she kind of put in the effort too. Put in your fair share of squats you know what I’m saying, keep that booty tight LOL. (Ugh.. a lil too much info..) I don’t eat any fast food, pretty strict healthy diet. So yeah.
9) When you say physical trait its tough to say, Cause I honestly don’t have a specific requirement. All I want is someone who looks after herself. How big your cha-chas play no role in being my wife.
(Man… I hope my mom doesn’t read this lol.)
10) The last step and most important one: “Good hearted.” Underline and bold this baby.
Maaaaan this is sooo important. Truly believe that this world is created with two types of people. People who are evil selfish, and just plain evil! And then you have the good-hearted compassionate people, its something I can just tell off the bat, I call it the “vibe” If I get a good vibe from you then we heading the right way. Just Good hearted.
Ok now I’m speaking gibberish.
To sum it all up: Personality:
-Goodhearted.
-Open minded.
-Loving & caring.
-Honesty. Have to be honest with each other.
Physical:
-Takes care of herself
-Not always dressed up, casual wear.
-Make up = Icky

So, there you have it……… NO makeup, not always dressed up ( I DITTO THAT (VA) I HATE GIRLS THAT GO SHOPPING IN HEELS!! WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH THAT?! FAKE, FAKE, FAKE …and I am a girl ! ) LOL
