Where will you be Spring/Summer 2011?

17 Nov

Well, I hope I’ll be somewhere watching The Royal Wedding.

That’s right. Prince William is FINALLY going to make an honest woman out of Kate, or Katherine as he made the announcement to the world, yesterday.

So, here’s my question. Is the lady going to do a flip reversal and start dressing and acting like a ‘royal’?

Here’s Kate in 2008- note: this was for a charity, roller-blade party!

Here’s Kate Wearing a neat skirt suit, she was joined by Prince Harry and Camilla Parker-Bowles at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, when William received the Knight of the Garter – becoming a Royal Knight Companion and the 1,000th Knight in the order.

Will she remember to take the labels off the shoes when she gets married? I do hope so.

I wish them all the best. I think they make a lovely couples and she seems ‘normal’.

On a scale of 1-10, how angry would you be?

15 Nov

So, above we have three cars, an aston martin, a porsche and Ronaldo’s famous bugatti crash pics. Three beautiful cars…so, on a scale of 1-10, how angry would you be?

The interesting thing about this post is…men and women are going to view it differently..

Men have already said, 10…oh, definitely, 10…and would have been moaning, ‘I can’t believe I crashed the porshe…damnit, I’m going to have to get it completely ‘resprayed’…

Women are saying the opposite…not 10. We would just be ‘thankful’ that we got out safe and alive and requesting that the car be towed and that we never see it ever again.

Right or wrong?

Nivea’s Angel Star Line

15 Nov

So, today in Lulu, I found a fantastic bargain! I got the new Nivea Angel Star Line lotion (and deodorant free)… it was only 1.050kd. Cheap, right?

Well, I tried out the lotion tonight, it feels amazing and smelt so good that I wanted to eat it!! It gave me that soft feeling that we all crave!  Basically it has a special formula that contains a balanced moisturizing technology with micro fine powder particles that adapt to the level of moisture needed on different body zones.

Result: oily zones are mattified and dry zones are intensively moisturized while the irresistible raspberry scent pleasantly enwraps your skin.

I seriously recommend everyone tries it! I’m more of a neutrogena type of girl but not any more! I’m sticking with Nivea!!

And GUYS: 😛 Yes, guys use lotions too!! I got my husband some of the lotion for men.

He was ‘happy’ with it. LOL

Nivea is getting 10/10 from me for their products!

Bye Bye Pen and Paper

6 Nov

What happened to pen and paper? Internet has taken over.

I miss pen and paper.

It’s sad to think, my daughter won’t have a diary. I had a diary since the age of 8. It was Winnie The Pooh and it had a lock on it. I kept it under my mattress and funnily enough, my mother never ever ‘sneaked’ to read it. Every night, I wrote down what I had done that day…what I had achieved, what I had found difficult… my daughter’s diary will be right here, this…a blog… I’m sure of it and I suppose, that’s ok.

Hell, my diary has become my blog to a certain extent. Years ago, when I first started off, in my late teens, my blogs were horrific…tears….tantrums…crushes…breakdowns…heartache…all rolled into one. I don’t know how my readers stayed with me for so many years. I hit 150,000 views in a year and stopped. It was a good blog. And, no, before you ask, not a chance am I telling you what it was called.

We all need to just ‘vent’ sometimes. This week, a friend ‘passed away’, well, it was suicide. Scary thing is, I’ve just got more details and apparently he didn’t trust anyone and thought that the majority of people that surrounded him were infact, ‘spies’….lordy lord, im not joking. Sad, tragic, infact…

I will encourage my teenage daughter to blog, venting is good, expressing oneself is always good. Blocking everything up inside is bad…really bad.

So, all mums out there, let your daughters blog… and to all ladies out there, say what you want, say how you feel, remember, it’s just a screen, no-one actually knows who you are 🙂

And to all those other mums with young daughter, get your daughter a diary and a pen!

Roses are cliche

5 Nov

Have you ever seen an orchid; how it floats in the water, so delicate and beautiful?

When a woman gets an orchid; it’s, well, she feels like she’s floating on a cloud of infinite possibility.

Always go with Orchids. Roses are cliche.

Thanks, SubwayMum!

2 Nov

Thanks to SubwayMum I got some very useful information this morning!

So, we all know, I’ve started my diet AND yes, I’m taking Lipo 6 which by the way is going ok. I have loads of energy, no sick feeling, no headaches and inshallah it will stay that way.

I was thinking of getting a treadmill, went last night, looked around and just didn’t see any that I liked. Nasser Sports in Salmiya had two. One was priced at 148 and the other 98. They looked quite bulky but the run strip just didn’t seem wide enough. Hubby tried them and agreed. We decided we would wait and check out the Sport’s shops up near Qurain. Anyway, this morning Subwaymum said, ‘why a treadmill? why not get a elliptical cross trainer? Treadmills are terrible for your knees! I had always assumed that a treadmill was best, nothing can shift fat like a good run. But, after some research I am wrong.

A quick comparison:

When you compare treadmills to elliptical trainers, you can’t help but notice that the elliptical trainer offers an impact-free workout. With the elliptical, there is no impact on the ground, which may appeal to people who need a gentler workout because of joint problems or pain. The treadmill offers more impact, which helps strengthen the bones.

One obvious point that is in favor of treadmills is that it provides a better training experience for a dedicated runner/jogger than an elliptical trainer. If you are training for a marathon or even a 10k, and you don’t want to go outdoors too often during the colder months, you are certainly better off with a quality treadmill.

That being said, if you are looking for a quality cardiovascular workout with the maximum amount of efficiency, the elliptical is an excellent choice. Most elliptical trainers give you a total body workout if you have dual action handlebars for your arms and foot pedals for your legs, whereas treadmills focus more on your lower body as they simulate the jogging experience.

So, there you have it…the cross trainer seems like a better choice.

Thanks, Subwaymom, you saved me my knees and a whole load of cash since the cross trainers are much cheaper too!
