Don't forget about your pet this Christmas!

25 Nov

The holiday season is coming up, yes, I’m talking about Christmas! Don’t forget about the gift for your pet! They deserve treats too! Yes!! How cute!! You can order them here! AND they even have Winter designs!

AND, also, please remember, A Dog is for life NOT just for Christmas!!

Every year in the UK, around Christmas time the RSPCA make appeals to everyone to think before buying a puppy or any other pet as a Christmas present. The RSPCA’s message is “A dog is for life, not just for Christmas”. This prompt is to make people think, and to consider the implications of owning a pet.

It is a wonderful experience to see your child’s face light up when you present them with an adorable puppy. There’s no getting away from that, however it doesn’t last very long and it is only one side of the coin.

The same applies for all animals.

That little kitten is going to scratch the hell out of your furniture and when it does, the option is NOT to throw it out on the street.

Please KUWAIT, we have enough animals left out on the streets here. It’s time we put a stop to it. Take these animals in, clean them up and welcome them into our families.

Please, remember, in Kuwait, we DO have people that help our animals. Don’t forget Animal Friends of Kuwait. It’s Winter and they need your help. If you can donate ANYTHING, it would help. Food, old sheets, blankets…anything would be appreciated. They have a wish list. Here are just a few of things that they need (and they will pick up items from your house)…

Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Dishwashers, Horse Brushes, Horse Halters and Leads (all sizes), Horse Blankets, Equine Fly Masks (all sizes)
Hard Plastic Kiddie Pools (Not Inflattable), Cat Litter Boxes, Cat Litter, Cat Food, Cat Carriers, Cat Toys, Dog Plastic Beds, Dog Food, Dog Collars and Leashes, Rabbit Food (Pellet)…you can read the rest of the wish list here

HELP OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE, WHATEVER YOU DO. THANKS ūüôā

As a child, I didn't watch much TV

24 Nov

First of all, I’m a mum. I let my kid watch TV. I don’t see the harm in it. Of course, I would never let him/her¬† sit in front of the TV all day but, he/she does get 30minutes in the morning and 30minutes in the afternoon.

How do you feel about it?

I have researched alot on this subject and too much television has been linked to ADHD, OCD, Autism. So, what’s your view?

Does it? Is it detrimental to your child? Is it my responsibility to not let my kids watch TV?

I think 30minutes a day does no harm when they are young and when my kids are old enough to go to school, I will reward them with 30minutes TV a day IF and WHEN they finish their homework.

As a child, I didn’t sit and watch TV after school, I went out for walks, rode my bicycle and visited friends houses and played ‘teacher/pupil’ or ‘families’…On a Saturday, I was allowed to watch TV from 8 – 10am and that was it, I was sent outside to play. I’m glad that my parents did raise me that way, even now, I’m not a ‘TV’ person. I rarely sit down to watch anything. I have, of course, my favourites series which I would never miss, but I would never sit down at 5 in front of the TV and spend the night in front of it. That would drive me crazy. Instead, I go out with hubby shopping, go for walks, blog, read a book or listen to music.

Anyway, I’ve kind of gone off what I was talking about, what do you think?

Does TV do more damage than good?

Tonight's episode of Oprah really made me cry…

22 Nov

I don’t watch Oprah too much but, tonight, I did.
The episode was …ooof, really, really sad.
A lady, a mother had lost her three children in a horrific car accident. Her husband and her were saved and she wasn’t quite sure why until exactly one year later, she gave birth …………to triplets… a miracle?
Imagine. She lost three and exactly a year later , she gave birth to three.
It gets weirder.
She lost in the accident, 2 girls and a boy..
A year later, she gave birth to….2 girls and a boy..
Scary, very scary.
