Zero is NOT a size.

18 Sep

Recently, I noticed mark@248am had blogged about 10 Fattest Countries in the world re: Girls.

Well, here’s what I’ve got to say to ALL of you. Ladies and Gents.

I’m sick and tired of people going on about wanting to be a size 0, a size 2, a size 4, a size 6.

We are ALL different shapes and sizes. AND No, I’m not FAT. I’m not jealous. I just don’t want to ever be smaller than a size 12. Curves are sexy. Big Bums are sexy. Big breasts well, those are annoying BUT…my point is, stop f^&*ing moaning at us about our weight.

Curves don’t equal fat, truth be told, many girls in this day and age are scarily thin and end up with anorexia. If all we have to worry about is a little extra meat well, we should be proud of ourselves.

As for you, MEN, the majority of you may watch your weight, may take pride in your appearance but truth be told, most of you are Jerks and it isn’t your wives that you do it for. Yes, that’s right, I said it.

It’ s very, very hard being a mother, a wife, a daughter and the person that we are expected to be by our partners/husbands/boyfriends. We may not live up to your expectations but do you ever think, you definitely don’t live up to ours??

Ladies do NOT have it easy.

We have to put up with double emails, two phones, calls in the night, un-named names in mobiles……….sound familiar girls? Yes, we have ALOT to put up with ……SO, if we feel like gaining a few pounds and eating a bar of chocolate, leave us the hell alone. We deserve it.

We don’t want to be like this………….

Marilyn Monroe was a size 16 and she was gorgeous!

Please note, the above model is Brazilian Fluvian who is a plus-size model size 16/18 for Elle, isn’t she gorgeous?

So ladies, no matter what anyone thinks of you, PLEASE know that you ARE beautiful.

It just takes one thing to make you a fighter.

This post is DEDICATED TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. You know who you are.

I love you. No matter what anyone else thinks.

It’s all so difficult!

15 Sep

I always find Winter ‘difficult’. I’m never sure what to wear and I especially hate Fall… it’s that in between time when you just aren’t sure whether it’s hot or cold…one sweater or two? a jacket or a coat?

Well, just to make it a bit easier, I thought I’d post this year’s trends for this coming Winter 2010/2011!

Trench Coats are back …much to my disgust, I’m not that keen on them, I think they are old and haggered looking but I found this one from Gucci and it is quite nice

It is of beige colour which is much easier to keep clean than white. The material is biscuit wool cashmere drill. It has a beautiful horn button closure with hidden placket, front slash pockets

*90% wool and 10% cashmere

Retail price – 500kd.

What’s next? Shoes? Dresses? Have a look…….

Shoes, well that’s going to be difficult to ‘pin point’ an exact trend..Issey Miyake are opting for ballerina shoes for fall – bit cold no?, Limi Feu for Doc Marten style boots, Anne Valérie Hash for brogues and Mulberry for low boots.

Comfort seem to be the main issue for this winter which DELIGHTS me. As well as flat shoes, designers are making our lives even more easy with practical and easy-to-wear items. Oversize mohair jumpers were Sonia Rykel’s favourite, while Givenchy went for winter-sport style pullovers, Marc Jacobs opted almost exclusively for knitwear

As for dresses, we are going 50’s…yes, you heard that right, retro and vintage are the key words here.

As for trousers Ladies, well, you aren’t going to see much of a trend in them. As we are dating back to the war era…well, ladies just didn’t wear trousers then. Skirts and flouncy dresses all the way. What’s coming next year? 1900’s? It’s almost like we are just working back………..year by year……..

Haute Hijabs

14 Sep

Designers have discovered hijabs have a wide appeal with Belgium. Women around the world are responding to the high-fashion scarves and head coverings that are the work of contemporary hijab fashion company Noor D’Izar.

While many Muslim women may or may not choose to wear hijabs, Belgian designers Fatima Rafiy and Inge Rombouts are hoping that non-Muslims will see their appeal. – not sure how this will go down from the religious perspective..

The company are actually looking for sales reps worldwide if anyone is interested:

I heart Louis Vuitton’s Denim Line 2010!

14 Sep

I LOVE the new Louis Vuitton Denim Line for handbags!

Isn’t it gorgeous!

They have totally revamped! It’s just a whole new luxury look! It has been called the new ‘Monogram Denim’ line for 2010, the handbag uses degraded shades of blue and red.

They are much much nicer than the brown/beige that we have been living with for the last ten years. I love the denim.

Available in the states for 1600$ which means how much here? Well, they should be the same but I bet they won’t be.

More bargains at LuLu!

5 Sep

Stopped by LuLu last nite… I was amazed, yet again, they have restocked. By that I mean, there was so much more than there was before, yani, more english food and more american food!

Right now, just above the bread aisle they have put a new section.

They had literally everything english you could think of… munchies, alpen, quavers, muesli (in every flavor), ambrosia custard, ambrosia rice, slim fast drinks, a whole variety of new crisps, remember salt and shake? Well, yep, they have those now too…

I really wanted to just take a video as I walked around but they have the whole ‘no photography’ up now, which is silly really…

What was interesting tho was the huge amount of fruit that they have! I found all sorts!I did take a few pictures as some looked really unsual. I found this thing and there was no name on it, im going to try and find a picture on google and let everyone see…it was really weird.

They now have those sauces , Coleman’s ones… I noticed, curry sauce, parsley sauce, sausage caserole and spaghetti bolognese…all Coleman’s. I hope they get more. I love these!

Safe to say… I still HEART LuLu…
