40 Tons of Food Items Seized

24 Nov

According to Kuwait Times

”The Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al-Sabeeh said yesterday that the capital’s municipality seized foodstuffs unfit for human consumption amounting to 40 tons, the biggest in the governorate’s history. Al-Sabeeh said in a statement to KUNA that the municipality’s emergency team seized the quantity in a sting against some depots in which they thwarted an attempt to promote the items among consumers through popular markets or groceries spread among the desert campers.”

Apparently some of the food dates back to 2001…that’s just gross.

Speaking of foods being seized. Could someone let me know if they see Aptamil AR milk, anywhere? Or, has it been seized too?

I have searched high and low and haven’t been able to find it anywhere, switched my baby to NOVALAC but it really isn’t agreeing with him. Would really like to get the APTAMIL AR. I have spoken to the Aptamil Supplier here in Kuwait and they have told me, ‘we have it in stock, it hasn’t been signed for release by the balidiya’….-that was three weeks ago and the situation has still not changed. 😦

You know, I’d just like to say, this isn’t ‘shampoo or cream’…it’s baby food, it’s vital that it’s available.

Not just our tomatoes…there goes the Zubaidi too….

11 Oct

So, we aren’t only paying 800fils per kilo for tomatoes…our fish prices just soared too. When will this stop?

We are turning into the UK…soon Kuwait will be introducing tax.Look at the above picture, for those that don’t know the conversions…that’s around 2.2kd per kilo……..good aul harrods eh? Charging that much for French tomatoes………………LOL. Ridiculous.

Zubaidi is now sitting at about 12kd per kilo.

For goodness sake, it’s just fish!!!

So, we’re all to stop eating meat and ‘fruit’ (since Tomato is actually a fruit not a veg) and eat what exactly?

It’s green beans from here on in.

Perhaps we should all just try the baby diet………..pureed broccoli and potatoes.

You can read more about these price hiked here over at the Kuwait Times and another article, Zubaidi or Gold.
